Written in the Horizon
GOSO (Getting Out and Staying Out) is a NYC nonprofit dedicated to reducing recidivism through education, employment, and emotional well-being. Their annual gala is their most significant fundraising event of the year, and for 2025 I led the visual identity from concept through execution.

The theme, "Written in the Horizon", came from reframing a familiar phrase, "Written in the stars," which implies destiny. But GOSO's participants aren't waiting on fate. They're actively writing new futures for themselves. The horizon became our symbol for that: something you are always choosing to move toward.

The visual direction of warm, vibrant sunset tones bring optimism, but the identity is grounded by rough texture and expressive mark-making drawn from the visual language of the city.

The 2025 Gala welcomed over 200 guests and raised over $600,000 in support of GOSO's programs.
